State Rebates

PV: $1.00 per watt (A/C)

SHW: $0.07/modeled kBtu/year for solar thermal systems

BOTH capped at a maximum of $50,000 or 25% of the total cost of the facility, whichever is less

The state of New Hampshire offers property tax exemptions, state loans, and state rebates related to renewable energy systems. The link to the DSIRE website elaborates on these offers as well as the rules, regulations, and policies associated with renewable energy in New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Electric Co-op Incentives

  • Grid-connected photovoltaic systems: This rebate fund has been exhausted.
  • Solar hot water systems: This rebate is $750 regardless of system size.

National Grid Incentives

  • All funds have been exhausted.

New Hampshire Community Development Finance Authority

This organization “supports affordable housing and economic development activities that benefit low and moderate income citizens in New Hampshire.”  They offer various grants and loans for energy projects that promote their mission.

Clean Energy Assessment Districts (CEAD)

Also called Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE). Check with your local municipality to determine if this incentive is available in your area. This incentive allows property owners to pay for a renewable energy system over a period of up to 20 years through a special assessment charged as a new line item on their property tax bills and paid to the municipality.

New Generation Energy Local Loan Program (VT, NH, MA)

This is a 1-10 year loan for $5,000-$100,000. Any for-profit or non-profit enterprise is eligible.

Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Business Loan Program

The New Hampshire Business Resource Center and Ocean National Bank have partnered to offer the , which provides low-interest loans to small businesses to purchase structural and equipment improvements that reduce energy consumption. A variety of energy efficiency measures and renewable energy systems are eligible for financing. This program targets loan amounts of $10,000 or more, with a maximum term of seven years. The interest rate is the prime rate minus 1%. Participants use energy cost savings to repay the loan.
